- 2 ½ cups flour
- 1 cup shortening
- 1 egg yolk + enough milk to make 2/3 cup (reserve egg white)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions

Mix together flour, shortening, egg yolk, milk, salt, and sugar as for pie crust.

Roll out half of pastry to fit jelly roll pan. Press on sides.

Spread pie filling over crust.

Roll out remaining dough, cover, and seal.

Beat egg white and brush over crust.

Bake at 375º for 40 minutes.

While warm, drizzle with glaze of powdered sugar, water, and vanilla.
