Cherokee Ham Hocks

  • 2 lb dry lima beans
  • 2 can whole corn
  • 4 onions, quartered
  • 2 tbs melted bacon grease
  • 2 piece smoked ham hocks
  • 3 quart water

Instructions

    Soak beans in water in large pot 3-4 hours. Drain

    and reserve. Bring 3qts water to boil in large pot

  3. 3

    and then add soaked beans. Cook at moderate boil

  4. 4

    for 10 minutes then add corn, ham hocks, and

  5. 5

    onions. Salt and pepper to taste. Reduce heat and

  6. 6

    cook for 1 hour on a low heat.
