- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 0.8 cup all-purpose flour, for batter
- 1 large egg
- 0.5 tbsp baking powder
- 0.5 cup beer
- 0.3 cup all-purpose flour, for coating
- 1 0.5 cup dried grated coconut
- 1 tbsp salt
- 0.5 tbsp ground black pepper
- 0.5 tbsp cayenne
- 0.5 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 0.5 tsp dried thyme
- 0.5 tsp dried oregano
- 2 cup vegetable oil, for deep-frying

Make the batter: whisk together 3/4 cup flour, egg, baking powder, and beer in a bowl until smooth.

Make the coating: combine 1/4 cup flour, coconut, salt, black pepper, cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, thyme, and oregano in a shallow bowl.

Dip each shrimp into the beer batter, then roll in the coconut coating mixture.

Deep-fry in hot oil (375°F/190°C) until golden, about 2 to 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
