Ingredients

Servings
8
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 0.5 tbsp barbecue sauce
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 0.5 lb ground sirloin
  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 0.8 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp onion powder
  • 0.3 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 dash garlic powder

Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C).

  2. 2

Combine tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, and sugar in a small saucepan over medium heat. Heat until it begins to bubble, stirring often, then remove from heat.

  3. 3

Reserve 2 tablespoons of the tomato sauce mixture. Add the rest to the ground sirloin in a large bowl.

  4. 4

Add flour, salt, onion powder, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix thoroughly.

  5. 5

Pack mixture into a loaf pan. Cover with foil and bake 30 minutes. Remove foil, drain fat, and cut the meatloaf (while in the pan) into 8 slices.

  6. 6

Brush reserved tomato sauce over top and return to oven for 15–20 more minutes uncovered. Serve hot.
