Boiled Lobster

The classic boiled lobster method: seasoned water with garlic and wine brought to a vigorous boil, lobsters cooked 12–14 minutes to perfection.

  • 2 live lobsters, 1.25–1.5 lbs each
  • 4 inches water in pot
  • 2 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 handful salt
  • 0.3 cup white or red wine
  • 0.5 cup melted butter, for serving

Instructions

    Fill a large steaming pot with 4 inches of water. Add garlic, a handful of salt, and wine.

    Bring to a vigorous boil.

    Add lobsters head-first into the boiling water.

  4. 4

    Boil 12–14 minutes for 1.25–1.5 pound lobsters. Remove and serve with melted butter.
