Black Eyed Pea Cornbread

  • 1 each lb. ground beef
  • 1 cup canned black-eyed peas, drained
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 0.8 cup cream-style corn
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 0.5 cup flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 0.3 cup cooking oil
  • 2 each eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 each tsp. Salt
  • 0.5 each tsp. Baking soda
  • 2 each jalapeno peppers, chopped
  • 1 cup Cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

    Brown meat and drain well.

    Break into small pieces.

  3. 3

    Add other ingredients in order given.

    Place in 13-by-9-by-2 inch pan that has been well greased.

    Cook at 350 degrees for 45 minutes, or until done.
