  • 1 onion -- chopped
  • 1 clove garlic -- minced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 lb cabbage
  • 1 quart sauerkraut -- rinsed and drained
  • 0.5 lb mushrooms -- sliced
  • 1 lb boneless pork butt -- cut in 1" cubes
  • 1 lb boneless veal -- cut in 1" cubes

  • 0.5 lb Polish sausage -- sliced 1/2" thick
  • 0.5 cup beef stock
  • 1 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tart apples -- diced
  • 0.5 cup pitted prunes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 0.5 cup red wine

    Combine all ingredients in crock pot and cook on low 8 to 10 hours. Serves 6.
