  • 1 lb sirloin tip or round steak
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp minced garlic
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 0.3 cup lemon juice
  • 0.3 cup plain yogurt
  • 0.5 tsp dried dill
  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp minced garlic for sauce

Instructions

    Combine oregano, 2 tsp minced garlic, black pepper, and olive oil. Press firmly into both sides of the meat.

    Cut meat into 1-inch cubes. Toss with lemon juice and let stand 5 minutes.

    Thread onto skewers. Broil or grill about 5 minutes, turning once. Do not overcook.

    For sauce: combine yogurt, dill, red wine vinegar, and remaining garlic.

    Serve souvlaki with yogurt sauce alongside.
