Beef and Beans
Pinto beans simmered with salt pork, cubed chuck steak, chili powder, cumin, tomato paste, and marjoram for a slow-cooked Southwestern comfort meal.

- 1 lb dry pinto beans, soaked overnight
- 6 cup water
- 0.5 lb salt pork, cut up
- 1 lb beef chuck steak, 1-inch cubes
- 0.5 tsp crushed red pepper
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 clove garlic, minced
- 6 oz tomato paste
- 1 0.5 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cumin seed
- 0.5 tsp marjoram

Soak beans overnight. Brown salt pork in a skillet.

Combine soaked beans with water in crockpot. Add browned salt pork and all remaining ingredients.

Cover and cook on LOW 8–10 hours until beans and beef are tender.
