Barbecue Beef Sandwiches

Beef rump roast slow-cooked in a tangy tomato-chili sauce for 14–16 hours until fork-tender, then shredded and served over hamburger buns.

  • 3 lb beef rump roast
  • 3 tbsp flour
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 0.5 cup onion, chopped
  • 0.3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp beef instant bouillon
  • 1 0.5 tsp chili powder
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped fine
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 8 hamburger buns

Instructions

    Rub flour into roast. Place in crockpot.

    Combine all remaining sauce ingredients and pour over roast.

    Cook on LOW 14–16 hours until very tender.

    Shred meat and serve over hamburger buns.
