Ingredients

Servings
4
  • 4 slice bacon
  • 0.3 cup onion, chopped
  • 1 can mushroom pieces, drained and finely chopped
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1 lb bulk pork sausage
  • 0.3 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.5 tsp pepper
  • 0.3 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp steak sauce

Instructions

  1. 1

    Cook bacon until crisp.

  2. 2

Remove bacon and discard all but 2 tablespoons drippings.

  3. 3

Sauté onion in drippings until tender.

  4. 4

Crumble bacon: add with mushrooms to skillet and set aside.

  5. 5

Meanwhile, combine beef, pork, cheese, pepper, garlic powder and steak sauce in a large bowl.

  6. 6

    Shape into 16 patties.

  7. 7

Divide bacon mixture and place over eight of the patties.

  8. 8

Place remaining patties on top and press edges tightly to seal.

  9. 9

Grill over medium coals until well-done (pork sausage in burgers requires thorough cooking).

  10. 10

Serve on buns, with lettuce if desired.
