  • 4 lb large shrimp in shells
  • 2 lb lean smoked sausage, cut in 2-inch lengths
  • 8 ears fresh corn, cut in half
  • 8 medium red potatoes, quartered
  • 2 large sweet onions, cut in wedges
  • 0.5 cup Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tbsp salt
  • 4 quart water
  • 12 oz beer, optional

Instructions

    In an 8-quart pot, bring water, beer, seasoning, and salt to a boil.

    Add potatoes and onions; cook on high for 8 minutes.

    Add smoked sausage; continue cooking 5 minutes. Add corn; boil 7 more minutes.

    Add shrimp and cook 4 minutes. Drain and mound on a paper-covered table. Sprinkle with additional seasoning.
