Autumn Pork Chops with Acorn Squash

  • 6 thick pork chops
  • 2 medium acorn squash, sliced crossways and seeded
  • 0.8 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp margarine, melted
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 0.5 tsp orange zest
  • 0.8 tsp salt
  • 0.8 tsp browning sauce

Instructions

    Trim excess fat from pork chops.

    Arrange 3 chops on bottom of slow cooker. Layer all squash slices on top; add remaining 3 chops.

    Combine salt, butter, sugar, browning sauce, orange juice, and zest; spoon over chops.

    Cover and cook on Low 6–8 hours until done. Serve one or two squash slices with each chop.
