Autumn Pork Chops

Thick pork chops layered with sliced acorn squash and smothered in a brown sugar, butter, orange juice, and Kitchen Bouquet glaze — an autumn slow cooker classic.

  • 6 thick pork chops
  • 2 medium acorn squash, each cut into 4-5 crossways slices, seeds removed
  • 0.8 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp margarine, melted
  • 0.8 cup brown sugar
  • 0.8 tsp Kitchen Bouquet browning sauce
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 0.5 tsp grated orange peel

Instructions

    Trim excess fat from pork chops.

    Arrange 3 chops on bottom of crockpot. Place all squash slices on top, then the remaining 3 chops.

    Combine salt, melted butter, brown sugar, browning sauce, orange juice, and orange peel. Spoon over chops.

    Cover and cook on LOW 6–8 hours until done.
