A&W Onion Rings

- 1 cup McCormick Golden Dipt Tempura batter mix
- 0.3 tsp onion powder
- 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
- 0.5 cup water
- 0.3 cup beer
- 1 count extra large white onion, sliced 3/8-inch thick
- 6 cup vegetable oil, for frying

Preheat a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).

Combine the tempura batter mix with onion powder, black pepper, water, and beer. Mix with a fork until a batter forms — small lumps are fine.

Slice the onion and separate all the rings.

Dip individual onion rings in the batter and drop into the preheated oil. Deep fry 3–5 minutes until golden brown.
