Crockpot Apple Butter

  • 16 cup harvest apples, washed, cored

Instructions

    unpeeled, and chopped

    2 c. apple cider

  3. 3

    2 c. sugar

  4. 4

    1/4 tsp. ground cloves

  5. 5

    2 tsp. ground cinnamon

  6. 6

    Dash of ginger, nutmeg, mace and

  7. 7

    allspice to taste

    Combine apples and cider in crockpot. Cover and cook on low heat 10- 12

  9. 9

    hours. Puree in food mill, sieve or food processor. Return apple mixture to

  10. 10

    pot and add sugar and spices. Cover and cook on low heat 6-10 hours. Pour into

  11. 11

    hot sterilized jars and seal. Apple butter may also be cooled and pureed in

  12. 12

    freezer containers and frozen for several months. Makes 4 pints.
