Barbecued Ribs
Ingredients
- 3 lb round steak, 1 1/2 inch thick
- 2 tsp salt
- 0.3 tsp pepper
- 2 med. onions, sliced 1/8 inch thick
- 1 can tomatoes, undrained, 1 lb.
- 6 lb round steak, 1 1/2 inch thick
- 4 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp pepper
- 4 med. onions, sliced 1/8 inch thick
- 2 cans tomatoes, undrained, 1 lb.
- 3 0.5 to 4 lbs. country style pork ribs
- 1 tomato soup, 10 1/2 oz.
- 0.5 cup cider vinegar
- 0.5 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp celery seed
- 1 tsp chili powder

Trim excess fat from meat; cut into serving size pieces. Place raw meat in

bottom of crock; sprinkle with salt and pepper. Arrange onion slices over meat;

top with tomatoes. Cover. Place crock into outer shell. Cook. For 3 1/2

quart: Cook on Low setting, 9 to 12 hours or High setting 5 to 6 hours. For 5

1/2 Quart: Cook on Low setting, 9 to 11 hours or High setting, 4 to 5 hours.

Makes 8 to 10 servings for 3 1/2 quart; makes 15 to 18 servings for 5 1/2 quart.

Trim excess fat off ribs. Place ribs in slow cooking pot. In mixing bowl

combine tomato soup, vinegar, brown sugar, soy sauce, celery seed and chili

powder. Pour over ribs. Cover and slow cook at setting #3 for 7 to 8 hours,

setting #4 for 5 to 6 hours, or setting #5 for 3 to 4 hours. Reduce to setting
